Assist the Enterprise Field Sales Executives and Strategic Account Executives in qualifying and addressing both prospect and customer technical requirements.<br/><br/><b>Responsibilities:</b><br/><br/>- Exemplifies mastery of all areas of IT service management and business operations.<br/>- Works to customize highly complex configurations and associate services working with sales personnel in response to customer needs with minimal to no supervision.<br/>- Present advanced technical concepts in a clear manner to customers through demonstrations, technical review, and proposal presentations.<br/>- Collaborates with sales teams and peers to determine best product and services fit accomplished via conference calls, site visits, and email correspondence.<br/>- Provides training and mentoring to sales representatives and other engineers during initial peer onboarding.<br/>- Works with operational staff as it relates to initiatives that affect the Sales Engineering Team.<br/>- Interfaces with internal teams by working with new product initiatives to ensure completeness and relevance to customer requirements.<br/>- Participation in after-hours customer escalations as needed.<br/>- Representation at conferences, industry, and marketing events as needed.<br/>- Moderate travel will be required.<br/>- Provides FANATICAL support by listening to the customer first, establishing strong relationships with both customers and sales teams, demonstrating technical credibility, and making the transformation to a Rackspace cloud/managed solution as seamless as possible.<br/><br/><b>Job Requirements</b><br/><br/>- A minimum of 10-12 years of system administration, technical support and/or technical pre-sales experience required.<br/>- BSCS/BSEE or equivalent work experience is required.<br/>- Any relevant industry training and/or certifications including but not limited to virtualization (e.g. VMware, Citrix, Xen), operating systems (e.g. Microsoft, Linux), server and storage platforms (e.g. NetApp, EMC, Dell) and network devices (e.g. F5, Cisco, Brocade) is preferred.<br/>- Applied understanding of enterprise servers, appliances, and related subsystems such as x86 architectures, compute power, memory, I/O, and disk.<br/>- Mastery of networking protocols, standards, and hardware such as IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, HTTP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, 1/10Gb Ethernet, FCoE, iSCSI, load balancers, firewalls, log management, IDS, and proxies.<br/>- Experience with relational databases and applications (e.g. Exchange, Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, SharePoint).<br/>- Mastery of front end web technologies related to eCommerce, rich media, content management as well as web development platforms including J2EE, Java servlets, JavaScript, XML/XSLT/XHTML/HTML, ASP, C#, CGI, Ajax, Python, Perl, Microsoft .NET, shell scripting, and web services.<br/>- Strong knowledge of content delivery and WAN acceleration technologies and techniques.<br/>- Practical understanding of compliance measures such as PCI, FISMA, SOX, and HIPAA.<br/>- Familiarity with security (e.g. CISSP, GSEC) and process (e.g. PMP, ITIL).<br/>- Expert working experience with various storage protocol technologies, vendors, and principles such as disaster recovery, high availability, replication, optimization, snapshots, backups, etc.<br/>- Able to demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and technical knowledge by providing innovative yet supportable solutions.<br/>- Excellent written and presentation communication skills with the capacity to articulate complex technical topics to varying customer audiences (administrators to executives).<br/>- Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively manage multiple opportunities.<br/>- Ability to deal with ambiguity by making the appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.<br/>- Proficiency to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups with strong follow through techniques.<br/>- Strong consultative selling acumen with demonstrated success in prior roles.<br/><br/>Rackspace (NYSE: RAX) a world leader in hosting delivers enterprise-level managed hosting, cloud hosting, and e-mail hosting services to businesses of all types and sizes globally.
