Rackspace is looking for Director of Quality Engineering to join our Quality Engineering Organization. As a Director of QE, you will be given the responsibility of directing the test strategy, hiring individual contributor and management QE resources and interacting with Cross functional Directors and Managers for our IT organization. This group is responsible for products that are utilized internally at Rackspace as well as our Cloud billing infrastructure. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the code delivered to our internal and external production systems delivers a fanatical quality experience for our customers.

Our Quality Engineering organization brings engineering talent to the forefront and works closely with development to continuously deliver code to our customers that is reliable, scalable, and functional. We are looking for a technical and hands on Director of QE that has experience in managing medium to large testing organizations and who will help us continue our mission of providing a high quality experience for our customers, while working in a collaborative, dynamic and fun environment.

, Drives and reviews the design and development of test plans and strategies to ensure alignment with business requirements

Required Experience/Skills:
, 10+ years managing med/large and rapidly growing multiple software test teams which includes developing test strategies, development of API and UI test automation utilizing coding languages and open source tools, participating in release management and QE project management activities
, Bachelor,s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field of study or comparable job-related experience is required. MBA or Masters degree desirable
, Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working within an Agile development process (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc) from an Agile testing and management perspective.
, Deep understanding of UI, API and System level automated test methodologies, automation test frameworks, tools and techniques, and practical application of test automation in major development efforts is required.
, Deep knowledge and understanding of Unit, UI, API , Web Service, and functional testing methodologies

The Head of Enterprise Service Delivery is ultimately responsible for the ensuring we deliver Fanatical Support to our customers. Due to the 24X7 operations of the business, this person must be able to work a flexible work schedule and deal with escalations and outages out of hours.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Key Accountabilities:

- Lead the Enterprise customer experience strategy via the teams to achieve Rackspace’s objectives including Install Base Growth, NPS, loyalty, profit and Racker engagement.
- Lead and manage the Enterprise Service Delivery team within a segment that includes all measures of customer growth, loyalty, profits and Racker engagement.
- Recruiting, managing and developing technical and non-technical Rackers whilst maintaining the Rackspace culture
- Coaching teams on how to apply industry best practices during customer consultations
- Work with the VP of Enterprise to implement process changes to underpin contractual SLAs with the Enterprise customer base and implement additional SLA’s where applicable
- Setting team targets whilst managing and monitoring performance accordingly
- Building a scalable and efficient organizational model that reduces our cost to serve our customers
- Reviewing service breakdowns to implement process improvement opportunities
- Leading Managers to troubleshoot areas of poor performance and identify strategies/solutions to resolve both immediate and long term issues.
- Acting as the final escalation point for customer and staff issues
- Managing SLAs and implementing process change to underpin contractual SLAs
- Be a collaborative partner with other departments in the UK and US to deploy and optimize new service solutions to achieve growth targets.
- Drive strategic change and innovation initiatives
- Succession planning throughout the department

Key Performance Indicators

- Customer Growth is measured on % growth in the Installed Base the target is set on a quarterly basis
- Customer Loyalty is measured using the NPS the target is set on a quarterly basis
- Retention of customers is measured using a % defection churn against the Installed Base
- Racker Engagement is measured using the Gallup Q12
- Scaling the organization is measured using a Revenue per Racker target that is set on a quarterly basis
- Service breakdowns (SLA) is measured by calculating the % of service credits raised against the Installed Base
- Succession planning is measured against our ability to continue with business seamlessly if we were to lose a key Racker
