EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

Responsibilities:
, Leading test automation efforts for all products within a product line including selecting, designing and implementing test frameworks and tools
, Promoting, soliciting and instructing others on good quality and coding practices and standards through mentoring and group presentations
, Representing Cloud QE in discussions with development and product groups as well as within the OpenStack and external professional communities
, Writing smoke, functional, integration, load and regression automated tests against web services APIs (REST)

MUST HAVE:
, 6+ years of Test Automation experience

The Opportunity: Rackspace is seeking world class Cloud Solution Architects (CSAs) to join our Enterprise Technical Sales team. CSAs at Rackspace combine a history of solving business problems through creative technical solutions (solution architect experience) with distributed application expertise to drive the adoption of Rackspace’s OpenStack powered cloud computing platform.

CSAs focus heavily on winning the hearts and minds of engineering and development teams within our largest and most important Enterprise accounts. Responsibilities include: Translating functional requirements into conceptual and detailed designs; Providing estimates for development effort; Implementing proof of concept, prototypes and production-grade software; creating unit and acceptance tests; coordinating sign-off from QA/Test; automating deployment; And assisting Operations and Support staff in trouble-shooting software issues as well as implementing bug fixes.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
- One to five years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in Python or Ruby development on Linux platforms
- Solid interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work as a productive member of a fast-paced, tight-knit team

DESIRABLE:

- Linux system administration skills
- HTTP/REST development experience
- NoSQL database experience on a platform such as Cassandra or MongoDB
- Object-oriented development experience in C++, C# or Java
- Experience with multi-threaded applications
- Knowledge of secure programming concepts (e.g., cryptography and threat modeling)
- Relational database experience
- Experience in open source development
