Email and Applications support is a key element within Rackspace’s customer service operations. They are expected to provide technical support to our customers over the phone & support tickets. An E-mail & Apps Technician L2 is the owner of complex customer issues. They are required to provide consistent troubleshooting techniques to efficiently identify the source of a problem and work with our internal interfaces & tools for a resolution. They should work in line with fanaticism & innovative thinking to solve customers’ technical issues. An E-mail & Apps Technician L2 can fix an issue for the customer; educate the customer how to use all our Products, tools & knowledge centres, so they can fix the issue next time. An E-mail & Apps Technician is expected to know when to escalate the advanced issues to the next level for additional assistance. Throughout this process, the E-mail & Apps Technician must keep the customer notified of every step along the way with regular proactive phone calls & ticket updates.

The role of an E-mail & Apps Technician L2 is not limited to only customer interaction through calls & tickets. Although providing second line phone support & cover is their primary job function & focus. At times when other Technicians are not available, they will work closely with the Account Management & sales team teams to help resolve urgent escalated issues – whilst managing their own day-to-day work.

Customer Service Technicians L2 will work very closely with the Senior Technician on continues improvement projects & will be responsible for improving the day to day efficiencies and customer experience through creative ideas & process improvement & project work including NPS engagement.

- Handles level-appropriate customer support requests primarily via phone, tickets & escalations from internal colleagues
- Is an available resource for complex issue escalations
- Escalates support requests as necessary to appropriate escalation path, Ops, Senior Technician or manager when no resolution can be found.
- Documents all customer support phone calls via ticketing systems (including any account changes).
- Provides in-depth e-mail troubleshooting of product offerings to diagnose whether the customer issue is on the email server – and if so, what can be done to rectify situation.
- Creates and maintains customer loyalty by serving customers above and beyond their expectations

As a Rackspace Cloud Server developer, you will contribute ideas/blueprints and codes to OpenStack on behalf of Rackspace. Together with Rackspace, you will help make OpenStack the standard for enterprises and service providers to run their private or public cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidates are passionate advocates of technology and open source, and have extensive software design and development experience.

Responsibilities:

- Adds to and extends features of the OpenStack platform for provisioning and managing the life cycle of virtual machines in large scale.
- Facilitates design discussions with developers from Rackspace as well as the OpenStack community and documents own designs with blueprints.
- Actively participates in regular OpenStack meetings and contributes to discussion on the designs from the community.
- Actively provides code review feedbacks to code commits from the OpenStack community and from other Rackspace developers.
- Writes clean, maintainable code that is suitable for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), following best practices and guidelines from Rackspace and the OpenStack community.
- Debugs code, troubleshoots problems and develops solutions for production issues.
- Collaborates with other developers, quality engineers (QE), ops engineers and support engineers to ensure smooth deployment, continual operation and fanatical support of quality software.
- Mentors developing developers.
- Contributes to Rackspace strategy on productizing OpenStack features.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and writing cutting edge software on Linux platform. Bonus if you have worked with multiple languages like C, C++, Java, Python, or Ruby. Extra bonus if you have contributed to OpenStack!
- Solid knowledge of design patterns and object oriented software design practices.
- Good working knowledge of Internet and operating system security fundamentals.
- Good working knowledge of message queuing technologies such as RabbitMQ and ZeroMQ.
- Good working knowledge of MySQL and SQLAlchemy.
- Good working knowledge of Python threading.
- Solid knowledge on distributed, highly available and massively scalable system design.
- Experience with virtualization, preferably on multiple hypervisors
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Experience with working in open source communities: collaboration using mailing lists, IRC and other distributed communications systems.

, Using your Quality and Testing experience to identify test gaps and opportunities to expand our test case coverage

MUST HAVE:
, 6+ years of Test Automation experience
, Demonstrated experience with Object Oriented programming including multiple languages such as: Python, Java, C++, PHP, JavaScript, Perl or Ruby
, Strong Understanding of XML, XSD, Json, WADL, WSDL, REST and SOAP and demonstrated experience with web services APIs.
, Demonstrated leadership experience with a focus on QA Processes and Methodologies
, Demonstrated knowledge of a UI automation tool such as Selenium, QTP, or Silk
, Basic knowledge of open source tools such as curl, JMeter
, Previous experience with Continuous Integration or Delivery
, Practical experience with Linux, such as Red Hat or Ubuntu, including Unix shell scripting
, Demonstrated advanced knowledge of web protocols, networking and systems
, Experience with performance and load testing including multiple tools and environments

NICE TO HAVE:
, Experience with geographically dispersed teams.
, Experience working within an Agile development process (Scrum, XP, Kanban etc) from the test design, test automation and execution perspective
, Knowledge of Cloud Computing concepts
